Short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and has no trackers. The only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us through the contact form, and we use it to reply to you.

Who we are

Moderni is the trading name of Moderni Technologies LLC, a web design and photography studio operating in California. When this notice says "we" or "us", that is who it means, and moderni.dev is the site it covers.

What the site collects on its own

Nothing. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party scripts. The fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font network, so simply reading this site does not report your visit to anyone else.

That is also why you are not being asked to accept anything. A cookie banner here would be theatre, because there are no cookies to consent to.

What you send us

The contact form asks for your name, your business, your email address, which package caught your eye, and a message. Only the name, email, and message are required, and everything in the form is there because it helps us give you a useful reply.

Sending the form delivers that message to our inbox through Web3Forms, a form delivery service that passes submissions straight to us as email and keeps no copy for its own purposes. If that delivery fails, the form shows you our email address so you can write to us directly instead, and in that case your message never passes through anyone but your own email provider and ours.

What we do with it

We read it and we reply. If the conversation turns into a project, that correspondence becomes part of our record of the work.

We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else to market to you, and we do not add you to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.

Who else touches it

Web3Forms delivers form submissions to our email and processes them only for that purpose. Netlify hosts the site and, like any web host, keeps standard server logs that include visitor IP addresses. Our email provider stores the resulting message the same way it stores any other email.

Those three are service providers acting on our behalf. Nobody else receives your information.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept as ordinary business correspondence for as long as they are useful, which for an active or recent client generally means the life of the working relationship. If you would rather we did not keep yours, say so and we will delete it.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal asking sites not to follow you around. We do not track you in the first place, on this site or across any other, so there is no behaviour for that signal to change. We neither honour it nor ignore it, because there is nothing for it to switch off.

Your choices

Email us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not charge you for it. Depending on where you live you may have these rights formally under law; we would rather just honour them for everyone.

If you are in California

We are a California business, so this notice is written to meet the California Online Privacy Protection Act. It is linked from every page of the site, it lists what we collect and who else handles it, it tells you how to review or delete your information, and the date at the top changes whenever the notice does.

California also has a broader privacy law, the CCPA, but it applies to businesses above size thresholds that a studio this small does not come close to meeting. We would rather not hide behind that. Whatever the law requires of us on paper, ask and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. We have never sold or shared personal information, and we do not intend to start.

This notice is governed by the laws of the State of California.

Children

This is a site for businesses hiring a web studio. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no version history to dig through, because the whole thing is short enough to reread.

Questions about any of this

Write to us and a real person will answer. That is the same address every enquiry goes to.
